Mobile Elevating Work Platform safe use – Demystifying beliefs on training
ABSTRACT
The Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) industry in New Zealand is a safe and thriving industry. Given that working at height is considered high risk, effective control measures should be adopted to remove and reduce the risk of falling. A MEWP is a great control method to reduce this risk when working at height. MEWP's however have their own inherent risks, especially during operations.
The Elevating Work Platform Association of NZ (EWPA) promote and support best and safe practices in the use and maintenance of MEWP’s. Training and safe operation are key initiatives the association promotes.
We will take you through Demystifying beliefs on training and safe operation, provide tips and guidance for ensuring you and your team are safe, and hazards are minimised when working from a MEWP.
